Forms of Payment I Gladly Accept

Official PayPal Seal  Buying art online at Terrell Art Studio is through the secure PayPal shopping cart, money order or personal check (after it clears my bank).

The PayPal shopping cart (and online banking system) is owned by eBay, and used for their millions of online auction transactions! I use PayPal for many of my own online transactions (and since I don't have a car, I buy a lot of things online). I have found it to be very safe, secure, and convenient.

Shipping Rates at Terrell Art Studio

I believe that the shipping rates are very reasonable at Terrell Art Studio. They are based on cost of art, which roughly translates into size:
From (USD) To (USD) Rate(%)
0.01 to 89.995.00 USD
99.00 to 249.0010.00 USD
249.01 to 499.9915.00 USD
500.00 to 999.9930.00 USD
1000.00 to and up50.00 USD
These rates apply only to the continental U.S. and Canada. Shipping charges overseas can get rather expensive. Please email for shipping rates to your country BEFORE making your purchase. It makes things simpler if you do.

After you place an order, it will take approximately 2 to 3 days to get your art packed safely and shipped. If it is a larger work, it will take approximately 2 days longer (because a crate probably will have to be constructed).

To Buy Art from Terrell Art Studio is SAFE!

When You Click on an Add to Cart Button:
You will be taken to my PayPal shopping cart. You do not need to have an account there to buy art. PayPal is a safer way to purchase online, though. Once you open an account, your account information is kept safely by PayPal (an eBay company) and you will not have to send it online anymore, so nobody will be able to lift your credit card information off the internet.

Online purchasing is still safe, though. don't worry. You do it every time you make a credit purchase in a store. Your credit card information has to be sent online to Visa, MasterCard, Sears, your bank, etc. And the secure lines used on Terrell Art Studio, and any reputable online business are very secure! Look for HTTPS in the address bar (where you type in the actual code name of the website). The "S" means you are on a secure line, similar to the ones banks use. If you are not, DON'T give your credit card number. (no charge for the free credit safety info! ha ha!)

Now you can continue with your art purchase, feeling safer making online purchases than you have before. You've already been doing it for years at Sears!

If it were not safe, really, the entire banking system would have collapsed before now, if you think about it. Online shopping carts are portals into VISA, MasterCard, and countless other banks and megabanks. If these portals were not, on the whole, very safe, hackers would have a direct link into the banks! This would be a disaster. But the connections are very secure. Just remember to check that you are actually on a secure line, such as my PayPal shopping cart here.

You can also check in your status bar, at the bottom of your monitor screen. You may not have it enabled. If not, go to your toolbars in the browser menu, and check. When you are on a secure line, you will see a gold lock icon, on the left or right side. You can even click on the lock to get more information about the website's security. This is probably too much information for most people, and I may have gone overboard here, but I know that still, many people are afraid to shop online.

I, myself, am a rather experienced online shopper. I do not own a car, so I depend on my commputer and online businesses for a lot of things I want, AND need. I just remember to always look at the address bar for HTTPS, like I explained in the text above. And also, I am careful about "Active X" because I use a PC. This is a special program that PC's use to "talk" to other applications. Unfortunately, hackers also use it to try to get your PC to "talk" to applications you don't want your PC to talk to!

Therefore, when the little box comes up in XP asking if you "trust" a program, or a box comes up saying you need to load an Active X program, be sure to STOP and wait a minute. Be sure of what you are doing. In the new Vista operating system, Microsoft has built in an automatic "stop" for you. This is a good feature, and in spite of the goofy Mac ad making fun of Vista, it does have some good features. (I do like Macs, so don't start on me! My work computer is a Mac in fact. ha ha)
